For Designers: Receiving, Installation & a Trade Showroom

SL2 is the trade partner behind the room: a trade-only showroom and an FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) receiving, storage, delivery and installation team built for interior designers and architects in Greenville, SC, across the Upstate and Western North Carolina, and beyond.

Why use a commercial receiver?

Your client's garage isn't a warehouse. Freight drivers don't wait, inspect or carry upstairs, and damage found weeks later is damage nobody pays for. A commercial receiver catches problems while there's still time to act, holds your pieces until you're ready, and delivers on your schedule.

  • Problems caught early. If a shipment arrives visibly damaged or crushed, we inspect it with the driver before they leave. Everything else is unpacked and fully inspected within 72 hours, not on the dock. That's the industry standard, so you can notify the manufacturer and sort out whether the damage happened at their warehouse or in transit.
  • A photo record of everything. Every carton is photographed at our dock from four to six angles, and every piece is photographed again once it's unwrapped, damaged or not. Photos go to your private Google Drive folder, which only you and SL2 staff can see.
  • Deliveries that fit the project. Pieces arrive on the manufacturer's schedule, not yours. We hold them until you're ready. Need lighting early for the electrician? We'll bring it. One piece on backorder? We'll get it to you as soon as it comes in.
  • Insured. SL2 carries insurance in the warehouse and on the road. Certificate of insurance available on request.

Install day, done right

We staff install days to do the job right, safely and professionally. More trained hands on site means a sharper, less fatigued crew and better work in your client's home.

It's tempting to ask for fewer installers to save money, but the math doesn't work that way. Two installers for eight hours costs the same as four installers for four hours. The difference is a fresh, focused team instead of a long day with tired hands around your client's new furniture. Your clients will notice.

Here for the small jobs, too

Most moving and transfer companies charge a three-hour minimum. SL2 has a one-hour minimum, so the small runs that keep a project moving don't cost a half day.

  • A client's chair is ready at the upholsterer. We'll pick it up and bring it back to the warehouse.
  • You found a great piece of art and need it moved from your office to your space in our warehouse. We'll handle it.

We're not residential movers. We don't move refrigerators or pack up closets. We specialize in the logistics of interior design, and we're here for you.

Your trusted network, on call

Install day rarely stops at furniture. When the project needs another trade, we know who to call.

  • Wallpaper. We work with one of the best: a fourth-generation installer for your most technical, delicate and expensive jobs.
  • Painting. One of the best crews we know.
  • Tile. Yes, we know a great setter.
  • Furniture repair. One of the best furniture repair specialists in the country is on speed dial.

Whatever you need, chances are we know the right person.

Out-of-state interior designers: we'll handle the details.

Working on a project here while you're across the country? Ship your FF&E to SL2 and ask about Design Assist. We'll coordinate the details on the ground so your client is in confident, capable hands.

Care you can count on.

A dinged wall or a scratched floor can happen, even with the best crew. When something goes wrong on our watch, we don't disappear. Let us know within 24 hours and we'll work with you toward a fair solution, from touch-up painting to our furniture repair specialist. Responsibility for damage is governed by the SL2 Designer Services Agreement and Policies, which excludes manufacturing defects, freight damage and items in the care of third-party installers.

We think about the long game. Your relationship with us, and with your client, is worth more than any single job.

On the designer's side. Always.

Integrity is at the heart of SL2, from the founders to the showroom to the install crew. We work for you, and the frustrations that come with any project, whether with subcontractors, schedules or clients, stay between us.

Why a trade showroom?

Your clients deserve to touch the fabric before it's on their sofa. Our trade showroom puts the lines you specify every day, including Thibaut, Kravet, York, Four Hands, Loloi, Visual Comfort, Chaddock and Rowe, under one roof in Greenville at designer pricing, with a team that handles quotes and ordering for you.

  • Bring your clients. Meet in our private conference room to review wallpaper, fabrics and finishes together.
  • Call ahead and we'll pull your selections. Your options are waiting when you arrive, so your client sees a curated edit instead of an overwhelming wall of samples.
  • Presenting a big proposal? Give us a heads-up and we'll have drinks and snacks ready when you and your client arrive.
  • Sit test before you specify. Try upholstery and seating from lines like Chaddock, Rowe and Four Hands in person.
  • One system, not two vendors. When your order ships, it comes straight to our warehouse to be received, inspected and photographed.

Why SL2

  • Trade-only. We work behind your brand, never in front of it.
  • Every carton photographed on arrival, and every piece once it's unwrapped, shared to your private folder.
  • Receives from any vendor or carrier, with preferred carriers Sunbelt Furniture Xpress, Murrow's Transfer and Brooks Furniture Xpress.
  • White-glove delivery and installation, staffed to do the job right.
  • A one-hour minimum, not the three hours most movers charge.
  • Specialists in interior design logistics, not residential movers.
  • We stand behind our work, as outlined in our Agreement and Policies.
  • A trusted network of wallpaper installers, painters, tile setters and furniture repair.
  • Insured in the warehouse and on the road.
  • A trade showroom and a receiving warehouse working as one.

How to sell receiving to your client

Receiving is part of a professional install, not an add-on. A few ways to talk about it:

  • Frame it as protection, not a fee. "Every piece is inspected and photographed before it ever reaches your home."
  • Put it in your contract and proposal from day one. List it next to freight as a standard line item, never as a surprise later.
  • Sell install day. A well-staffed, professional crew, everything placed, packaging gone. That's the reveal your client is paying you for.
  • Explain the crew size. "Four installers for four hours costs the same as two for eight, and your home gets a fresh, careful team."
  • Point to the risk. A damaged sofa caught at receiving is a reorder. Caught after your client signs for it at their door, it becomes your problem.

Frequently asked questions

Who can use SL2?

SL2 is trade-only. We work with interior designers, architects and design firms, not the general public.

Do you receive from any vendor or carrier?

Yes. We receive from any vendor, freight line or white-glove carrier. Our preferred carriers are Sunbelt Furniture Xpress, Murrow's Transfer and Brooks Furniture Xpress.

What happens when an item arrives?

Every carton is photographed at our dock from four to six angles, depending on its size, so its condition at delivery is on record. If a shipment arrives visibly damaged or crushed, we inspect it with the driver before they leave. Everything else is unpacked and fully inspected within 72 hours, not on the dock. That's the industry standard, and it gives you time to notify the manufacturer and find out whether damage happened at their warehouse or in transit. Once a piece is unwrapped, we photograph it too, and all photos go to your private Google Drive folder, which only you and SL2 staff can see.

Do you test electrical items?

Yes, for pieces with built-in power. We test power recliners, lighted display cabinets and similar furniture, and we inspect interior lighting. We don't routinely unpack exterior lighting, fans or gas fixtures, and we don't test gas components. Exterior lighting inspection is available on request.

Are items insured?

Yes. SL2 carries insurance in the warehouse and on the road. Certificate of insurance available on request.

What if something gets damaged during delivery or installation?

Tell us within 24 hours of the installation. We'll review what happened and work with you toward a fair resolution, such as a touch-up painter or our furniture repair specialist. Our responsibility is defined in the SL2 Designer Services Agreement and Policies, which excludes manufacturing defects, freight damage and items picked up by third-party installers.

What do I need to get started?

A certificate of insurance (COI) naming SL2 Designer Services as additionally insured. We'll need it on file before we begin receiving for you.

Do you have a minimum charge?

Yes, one hour. Most moving and transfer companies require three. That makes small runs, like picking up a piece from the upholsterer or moving art into your warehouse space, practical.

Are you a moving company?

No. We don't do residential moves. We specialize in the logistics of interior design: receiving, inspecting, storing, delivering and installing furnishings for designers.

Where do you deliver and install?

From our Greenville, SC warehouse we deliver and install throughout Greenville, Spartanburg and the Upstate, South Carolina's lake and mountain communities, Western North Carolina including Asheville, Highlands, Cashiers and Grandfather Mountain, and across the Southeast. Have a project elsewhere? Give us a call and we'll talk through scheduling.

Can I bring my clients to the showroom?

Yes. Meet in our conference room to review wallpaper, fabrics and furniture together. Call ahead and we'll have your selections pulled so your client isn't overwhelmed, and try seating from lines like Chaddock, Rowe and Four Hands with a sit test.

What are your hours?

The warehouse is open Monday through Thursday, 9am to 3pm, and Friday, 9am to 12pm. The showroom is open Monday through Thursday, 9am to 3pm; Fridays, after-hours visits and the conference room are by appointment.
